      Carlo St. Juste II, L.Ac MAOM is a acupuncturist with over 10 years experience in clinical practice and over 15 years in studying the martial arts. He has a Bachelors of Science in Business Management and a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Asian Medicine. He has practiced and studied extensively in California and worked with organizations such as University of Southern California (USC), and the City of West Covina.

Welcome! This class aims at giving you a good understanding of how to perform tai chi and qi gong to improve your health and quality of life. Please remember to consult your primary healthcare provider before conducting any rigorous exercise program.

Tai chi, also known as Tai Ji, means supreme ultimate. It is an exercise designed with multiple purposes, included to improve overall health, vitaligity, agility, calmness, improve breathing and circulation, and also has be practiced by many as a form of self defense.

Tai chi has grown and developed under the principles of opposites, which has many correlated theories with current bio-science. In movements you will notice small subtleties such as movement with stillness, hardness with softness, empty and solid positions.  It’s through recognition of opposites and how they interact that gives us a basis for tai chi.

This short yang style was originated by Dr. Chiao Nien Wang and taught at SCUHS (Southern California University of Health Sciences, Whittier), a graduate school for Acupuncture studies. The form was designed with more emphasis on the health and qi moving aspects of tai chi and qi gong practice. It was taught to us as students, and being a devoted student I continued to practice the form for over 15 years. This basic beginning form is designed to introduce students to the pure concepts of tai chi that can understood and develop good basics.
